PnP Background story :)

Tails of the Seven Worlds.

Chapter 1

Magic - does it really exists or not ?

No one can tell, sometimes we feel things we not suppose to feel.

For some people, sometimes the usual world around us freezes and stops existing, but this is only for a moment, then everything goes back to the way it was.

But one time the world stopped for me, and when lights lit up again the "world was not the same".

South. Desert of Madness.

A merchant caravan slowly moved towards the Capital City of the Great Southern Kingdom. Nazul was looking forward to the arrival, lots of good trade, money and maybe bit of Royal Favor -

He was able to catch a mage, the Kingdom needed magic and so if the mage can be used in royal army it would truly be a feather in his cap, if not, well people liked entertainment and blood.

For many centuries now, once in a while strange people have appeared in a place called "Desert of Madness" - they usually did not remember who they were, or where they came from.

However they did know magic (rough magic), they could not control themselves at first - that is where the Royal School comes in- you see there are plenty wizards everywhere, but Wars ( which were plenty ) did not required scholars, but raw power, so School ( more like prison ) tried to teach "mages" to control their power. In case of success they were free citizens which had to serve for 25 years in Army. For those who couldn't learn, well, the King liked gladiators. Show and Entertainment. Cruel yes, but the world is cruel.

That was on the mind of Nazul. This time he caught a human-looking creature, around 35 years old with black hair. While his servants attempted to catch him he blew up one cart, oh well someone knock him off with a sword ( kick on the back of his head ).

Kudesnik.

"Head, hearts, where I am ?" All he remembered was lots of sand, some people tried to catch him, something heavy hit him on the head. He opened his eyes.

Some lights where coming threw small holes in the cart. He was tied up with dirty ropes.

-- awake ? ( said man in strange head-ware )

-- why I am tied up ? Have I done something wrong ?

-- Don't worry mage - it's for your own safety - you almost killed my man and yourself.

-- I, I did not know I had it in me.

-- No one know, that is why we are going to the school, Nazul smiled.

-- Untie me !

-- Promise to behave ?

-- I promise.

-- I will untie you, but not your hands, don't get mad, mage, you don't know your own abilities, and I don't want to be fried. Nazul laughed hysterically.

-- Where are we going ?

-- To the Royal School of Untapped Magic :). Very special place. :) and don't ask me anything else, in few hours you will get a chance to experience everything yourself.

The rest of the story is blurry 3 month of training, royal army, and escape - Kudesnik can stand killing monsters or criminals or the "other side" during War, but murdering it's own citizens only because they disagree with with the King ?

That was more than he can handle and so the only option was to run away. After half a year of travel Kudesnik ends up in the City of Tark, but this is completely different story.
